Day to day you handle critical decisions about your finances, your business, and your health care. But, are you prepared for the unexpected? Life altering situations can arise without warning; if you haven’t executed the proper documents, the only recourse your loved ones may have will be to seek a court order for guardianship; this is a very time consuming, expensive, and unnecessary process.
If you lose the ability to make critical decisions due to disability or incapacity, it’s important to have estate planning documents in place to handle control of your financial, legal and property matters; your personal health care and medical matters; and to care for your minor children and other dependents.
These estate planning documents include a durable power of attorney, a living will, a heath care surrogate, and a HIPPA release.
